our community meetup is next week 🙂
we're making the Monthly Check-In a thing! Wed, Oct 4th — signup here if you wanna join.
Sorry, but how is it already October??
@jk_thetruth said it perfectly: “What, does September have somewhere to be? Why’d you just walk in and out the house like that? Did you double book? You gotta go?”
Time is so weird. Anyway, after a great turnout for last month’s Monthly Check-In meetup and lots of requests we do this more than once, I’m making our community meetups a recurring thing!
PS: Thanks again for your patience with the Whereby platform crashing midway through last month! I know a lot of you were able to sign back in and finish out our reflection time with me, but some of you were not—and I’m sure that was really confusing. I think I’ve worked out the kinks, so hopefully we won’t have platform issues this time 😉
it’s next week, and you’re invited:
Community Meetup| September Reflection + October Focus
Wednesday, October 4th @ 4pm PST / 7pm EST.
What is it, exactly?
A virtual workshop, where we’ll digitally co-work through my Monthly Check-In Workbook, together.
Wait, what “monthly check-in workbook”?
ICYMI: I sent a newsletter a while back describing the process I’ve used for 8+ years to figure out my personal seasons:
I answer a handful of reflection questions about the previous month, and
I use what I’ve just realized to set intentions for the upcoming month that will actually match my body’s current energy budget.
Since sharing a multi-step Notion template version of it with y’all back in 2022, I’ve massively simplified things: five questions to reflect on the past month; six questions to dream about the upcoming one. That’s it.
I even have a “low battery” version, with just three questions for those months I’m totally wiped out. Simplifying has changed everything for me.
If you sign up for our community meetup, you’ll get these Monthly Check-In questions in workbook form, sent to your email.
How long will it run?
We've set aside 90-minutes, but you can dip at any point you’d like.
Do I have to be on camera, or share my reflections with people?
Nope! This is meant to be a lowkey, low-spoons-friendly event.
Cameras are optional and mics will be off; I’m there to hold space, guide you through each of the 11 reflection questions, and keep time. There is no expectation of you performing for strangers or interacting outside of the chat box. (And the chat is voluntary, too.)
Please note that when you join the meeting, the app will require access to your camera and mic, like all meeting rooms do—but once you’ve joined, you’re welcome to switch everything off. I think I’ve set it up so it will automatically be off for y’all, but we’ll confirm once we’re in there. 😂
How do I sign up?
Sign up for $10 at the link below, or become a paid subscriber to attend for free!
When you sign up to become a paid subscriber of how to like being alive (sliding scale, starts at $5 per month), you’ll get a thank you email that includes a discount code you can use to make the event sign up FREE.
Current paid subscribers: The discount code is the same as last month’s code, and can be found in your thank you email! 😊
[Note: After becoming a paid subscriber and grabbing your discount code in the thank you email, be sure to sign up for our community meetup, here. Tap “Redeem Coupon Code” on that signup page, to make the event free for you!]
I can’t make it on this day / time. Can I still get your Monthly Check-In Workbook?
We’ll miss you, but of course! The workbook download is immediately delivered to your email when you sign up for the community meetup.
Even if you can’t attend live, sign up using one of the linked buttons above and the workbook is yours to use on your own schedule.
Why 90 minutes? That’s a long time.
So we have more than enough time to answer each of the eleven questions!
There are five questions putting your August into context, and six questions about what you want to prioritize in September, based on your current energy budget.
I’ll read out each question with a brief explanation, then use a timer for 5-ish minutes of quiet time for you to journal through your response.
You’re welcome to log off whenever you want, of course.
What if I miss the event, will it be recorded?
No, this event will not be recorded. Since it’s a blend of private reflection and digital co-working, I wouldn’t want anyone feeling uncomfortable to participate for recording reasons.
Will you do this again next month?
Yes! (Unless life intervenes, of course.) I’ll announce dates and times as we get closer.
Where is the meeting room link?
It will be sent to you in a confirmation email after you sign up here, with the subject line “SCHEDULED: Community Meetup | September Reflection + October Focus w/ Alexis Rockley.” Check your spam, those filters are ruthless!
Remember that becoming a paid subscriber of how to like being alive gets you subscriber benefits and the discount code to make our event free—but you’ll still need to register for our community event, here.
If you still can’t find the confirmation or link, email me at [hello@alexisrockley.com] and let me know what nickname & email address you signed up on this page with. Thanks!
I hope to see you there! ❤️
Anyways,
Alexis
